I am a mental health therapist who works with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents. With warmth and a sense of humor, I hope to create a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to discuss the issues they are facing, whether crisis-based or more general in nature. As a former public school teacher with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have over 15 years experience helping adolescents and families to think about their particular experience and journey. We are all unique, and as such, my therapeutic style is not 'one size fits all' ...drawing from a variety of therapeutic schools of thought, and using an open and supportive personal style, I work with clients and families to guide them in a blend of both practical ideas geared toward immediate change and more long-term emotional exploration. Because a positive therapy experience is dependent on a positive therapeutic relationship, I provide a free initial consultation session to see if we 'click'. My areas of specialty include underachieving and troubled adolescents, women's transitional life & family issues, which may include marriage, infertility, divorce, stepfamilies, 'empty nest', or career change, depression and anxiety, parenting challenges (new babies, teenagers and sibling concerns), grief and loss, relationship concerns, eating disorders, and domestic violence.
